Outside Reading

Outside Reading

Reading not only improves your reading skills, it also improves your writing, spelling, command of grammar, memory, knowledge, and so much more! By reading outside of class you practice so many skills that serve you each day.
There are four parts to complete Outside Reading to earn full credit:
Read a book!
Have your parent or guardian sign your OR sheet.
Correctly write a works-cited entry at the bottom of your OR sheet. This includes correct info, punctuation, capitalization...
Use your Write Source 2000 (WS2K) book to help you write a works- cited entry. See pages 231-232 for explanations and examples. I can double check your entry before or after school, too, but right before class is not an appropriate time.
...oh yeah, turn it in to your homework folder!
To earn an A:
parent signature, and
correctly written/formatted works-cited entry, and
turned in on time
To earn an F:
no parent signature, or
incorrectly written/formatted works-cited entry, or
turned in late
To earn a 0:
not turned in
1 Outside Reading = 5 points
12 OR per trimester = 60 points
60 points = a test grade
